About Harmony Recovery Center

The Harmony Recovery Center is part of the Harmony Health Group family. The center is located in Charlotte, North Carolina. The organization is accredited by The Joint Commission, is LegitScript Certified, and is a member of the Addiction Professionals of North Carolina.

They provide outpatient treatment for substance abuse that is individualized, evidence based and outcome driven to adults. Insurance is accepted including TRICARE.

Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is available, using FDA-approved Naltrexone, Vivitrol, and Suboxone, to ease withdrawal symptoms and reduce drug cravings. This is only offered if you meet certain criteria. The main criteria is that you have not been able to maintain long term sobriety through programs that are abstinence based.

Using medication helps if you have an opioid use disorder or suffer from chronic alcoholism. You do have to also attend one of their levels of care if it’s decided that medication will be added to your treatment plan.

They offer an alternative to residential treatment through the partial hospitalization program. You will be in a highly structured and supervised curriculum. Treatment will be intense and focused on you. I like that they provide you with three daily meals, as you spend the entire day in treatment.

The intensive outpatient program (IOP) will be tailored to your specific needs. They also make sure to empower your individual strengths and talents. I do like that based on your schedule, they can place you in either the morning or evening group.

Both programs offer so many varieties of treatments. You may see a few on your treatment plan. You may participate in various group therapy sessions. They have individual counseling, a class for building life skills, recreational activities and 12 Step meetings.

What stood out to me is that they offer non verbal forms of therapy. You may see these forms of therapy in your plan in the form of art, music, adventures, equine, and meditation therapy. It may include help with sleep routines, exercising, preparing and eating healthy meals, and participating in daily practices like yoga. Yoga is available and can help with stress reduction and finding balance in life’s stressful situations.
