This place is like a sanctuary for young people in need. It features on-campus dorms allocated based on age and mental and behavioral needs. Kids can comfortably stay here and work through their troubles with highly trained professionals. The center provides programs and intensive treatment to address a variety of conditions and behaviors including addiction and substance abuse.
Residents can benefit from the structure the programs and facilities provide. This includes regular clinical therapy sessions and three community meetings per day. They participate in skill building psychoeducational groups and problem solving groups. Residents are expected to fulfill morning and evening chores and laundry and can access the medical department when necessary for support from the team’s licensed nurses.
Monthly check ups also take place on site with a primary care doctor, alongside regular medical appointment schedules with transport included. A minister is also on hand to provide spiritual guidance where appropriate and is there to support individuals of all faiths. Regular supervised family visits or virtual visits also take place so that kids and teens can benefit from support and contact with family members.
Dining services offer regular and nutritious meals and snacks to ensure participants are well fed. Community service and recreational activities are also provided to offer a rounded, holistic experience.
In terms of their more specialized treatment offerings the center provides trauma release exercises, progressive counting and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing to help young people process their trauma. Individual, group and family therapy sessions are provided, as well as educational sessions. Other activities provided include music therapy, art therapy, multisensory therapy, movement therapy and trauma informed yoga.
