About Hamilton Madison House
Hamilton-Madison House is a nonprofit organization with nine sites in New York City, New York. They serve vulnerable people including those who are refugees, elderly, disabled, unemployed and more.
They offer many kinds of outpatient (OP) services that are needed for their clients, including substance abuse treatment.
They accept Medicaid, Medicare and other private insurance providers. They also have a sliding scale fee for those who don’t have coverage.
Hamilton-Madison House’s behavioral health program focuses on the Asian community. They have culturally and linguistically appropriate services for Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Southeast Asian clients. They offer a gambling prevention program, supported housing, and substance use and addiction recovery services for Asian Americans.
Their staff speaks every major Asian language and dialect to effectively communicate with their clients without translation services. The main goal of this program is to help improve the mental health of residents through prevention and treatment.
Hamilton-Madison House offers diagnostic assessments, evaluations, counseling in a range of formats, community outreach and more.
I like that they also offer employment assistance and job skill training. Their therapists understand the culture and use a model of therapies that blends different therapies to engage and treat clients. This could include motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as well as case management. Every treatment plan respects each client’s cultural background.
Hamilton-Madison House also offers non-English speaking residents help with English, computer and job skills. They also focus on helping older adults lead active, involved lives to help reduce isolation and depression.
