About Granite House
The Granite House is an accredited residential alcohol and drug rehab center based in Derry, New Hampshire. Specializing in inpatient care for adults aged 18+ covered by
New Hampshire Medicaid, they welcome individuals of all ethnicities, sexualities, and walks of life.
Based in Rockingham County, the location of this rehab is convenient for anyone based in Manchester or Boston. Their proven methods include dual-diagnosis care for individuals struggling with concurrent mental health issues, as well as relapse prevention, group and family therapy, individual counseling, wellness programs, 12-step, and SMART recovery groups. Therapy types offered include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), yoga therapy, and Gestalt therapy. Many of these treatment options are offered across Granite House’s intensive outpatient and outpatient programs, as well as in their inpatient residential programming.
Medically assisted detox is also provided to support individuals through the difficult withdrawal symptoms of early recovery. Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is also offered to those who need it, using medications such as Buprenorphine, Methadone, Naltrexone, Naloxone, Suboxone, Vivitrol, Acamprosate, and Disulfiram. Individuals who complete treatment here will also have access to ongoing alumni support and licensed clinicians as they ease back into day-to-day life.
Former clients are largely positive about their experience, though a handful remark that the atmosphere was ‘cliquish’, and treatment cost-prohibitive. Some former clients also criticize the contents of their educational material for being ‘extremely repetitive’, and the schedule and philosophy for its rigidity. With this in mind, you’ll need to decide whether such a heavily structured 12 step guided treatment program would be beneficial for you. Based on client feedback, it appears Granite House may not be suitable for individuals who identify as non-religious, or whose faith is not Christianity.
