About Gosnold Behavioral Health
Accredited by The Joint Commission, the Gosnold Treatment Center is located in Falmouth, Massachusetts. They provide inpatient medical detox for adults who have substance use disorders.
Their medical stabilization and detox unit holds 50 beds. I like that your withdrawal treatment will be medically monitored. The medical staff consists of physicians, nurses, counselors, recovery aides and case managers.
Before any treatment is started, you will undergo a psychosocial assessment. This assessment will help your care team identify your treatment needs. The length of stay is typically four to eight days.
They do offer medication assisted treatment. The medications will help with your withdrawal symptoms. They also lessen the chances of complications due to withdrawals. You’ll be given the medication until you no longer have withdrawal symptoms. It typically takes three to seven days.
I like that you will be encouraged to attend counseling and addiction education. If you are physically able, you’ll be able to attend up to five groups per day. You’ll also be introduced to the 12 Step program.
The staff will almost immediately initiate the discussion for your continuing care options. They’ll review your specific needs to determine what will be the best recovery support for you, post discharge. They initiate this conversation pretty quickly as the treatment program itself is short in duration.
During your stay, you will only be allowed to use the phone to speak to a counselor. If you drive yourself to treatment, you have 24 hours for someone to pick up your car. It will be towed past the 24 hours mark. They have stickers to determine staff cars from patient cars.
