About Gosnold Behavioral Health

Located in Falmouth, Massachusetts, Gosnold Behavioral Health has been providing behavioral health and substance use treatment in the state for 50 years. They are licensed by the Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. Clients can receive services such as medication assisted treatment and the structured outpatient addiction program to start the process of healing from addiction.

Medication Combined With Tailored Therapy Groups

Gosnold uses Vivitrol and Naltrexone to help patients get relief from their withdrawal symptoms. Naltrexone is taken daily through a pill, while Vivitrol is taken once a month via injection. All clients who are participating in medication assisted treatment will be required to attend weekly support groups during the first few months of treatment.

One of the things I like about this facility is the various recovery groups offered. Some of the groups available include women’s recovery, dual diagnosis recovery and mindfulness recovery. The women’s recovery group focuses on specific issues that typically affect women overcoming addiction, such as self esteem, relationships and boundaries.

Extended Hours For Urgent Counseling

One thing that stood out to me about this facility is its urgent counseling service. Clients can receive same day individual sessions in person or virtually during extended hours. These sessions are designed to help you have an urgent behavioral need, such as distressing thoughts that require immediate support through therapy.

The service also offers clients addiction medication evaluation within 72 hours of an initial evaluation and mental health assessments. You may also be able to receive a referral for other helpful treatment services.

EMDR Therapy is a neurobiological treatment modality used to address trauma disorders and related mental and behavioral health challenges. Short for eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, EMDR is designed to help clients cope with distressing memories and emotions, including fear, sadness, and anger. EMDR may help clients in addiction recovery manage the psychological and emotional triggers that contribute to substance misuse and/or addiction relapse.

Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT)

Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT) is a form of psychotherapy commonly used in addiction recovery. Based on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), moral reconation therapy (MRT) helps clients recognize unhealthy and/or harmful thought patterns and to replace them with more positive and productive ones.
