About Freedom House

Located in a secluded corner of Glen Gardner, New Jersey, Freedom House is a men’s residential facility that provides long term addiction treatment. It’s a residency with 44 beds where clients can be treated for addictions to drugs and alcohol.

Clients can expect counselors to use various evidence based practices in both group and individual counseling. The goal will be to help you achieve sobriety and practice productive life skills. Medication assisted treatment (MAT), monitoring, and specialized programs for folks under court orders are available.

The program starts with an initial phase where clients will follow a strict schedule and be held to a high level of accountability. Clinicians will determine the length of stay in each phase before you graduate to the next phase of treatment. When you graduate to phase II, your treatment schedule will be less structured. You’re allowed more freedom with your time and can have your own vehicle at the facility.

The treatment services offered at Freedom House include co occurring disorder treatment, employment training and placement, and recovery support services. One thing I really like about this organization is how they provide you transportation to work, medical appointments, and any other needs or responsibilities you may have. Freedom House also understands that having family available as a support system is important. Family education services are available to help your family learn how to support you as you recover.

Glen Gardner is only an hour away from major cities like Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and New York City, New York. You’ll also have access to nature just being 10 minutes away from Voorhees State Park.

To complete the residential treatment program, you’ll have to meet certain requirements such as having full time employment, having $1,000 in savings, and securing an approved living arrangement. Freedom House is able to provide continued support through their outpatient services and residential recovery programs.
