About Family Recovery Services — Transportation
Family Recovery Services (FRS) - Transportation is located in West Union, Ohio. They’re part of the greater Family Recovery Services Agency which also includes FRS Counseling.
At this location, they provide non-emergency transportation (NET) services to ensure that residents in Highland and Adams Counties can make it to their medical, counseling, and job training appointments on time. They also extend these services to other surrounding regions including Dayton, Cincinnati, and Portsmouth. Clients must be eligible through Medicaid to use these services.
Supportive Transportation Services
The Transportation Services branch of FRS opened in 2001. One of the amenities that stood out to me is that all of their vehicles are wheelchair accessible and clearly marked for easy identification. They work alongside many participating agencies to coordinate care across the state and provide services Monday through Saturday.
MAT and Outpatient Treatment For All Ages
FRS also has a dedicated counseling center where individuals can go to receive support for substance use disorder (SUD). Since 1983, FRS has been providing locals with targeted, effective outpatient treatment.
They offer general outpatient and intensive outpatient programs, as well as medication assisted treatment (MAT) as necessary. Children and adolescents who need more intensive support can enroll in their partial hospitalization program (PHP).
I think it’s helpful that they also offer prevention services to help educate the public on the dangers of SUD and treat the underlying causes of addiction before it begins.
Integrative Care Right Next Door
FRS - Transportation is located right next door to The Counseling Center (TCC). This is another drug and alcohol rehab center that provides outpatient behavioral health and mental health services. They also specialize in primary care through TCC Health, so clients can visit one location to support all of their needs.
Health and Healing in West Union
FRS- Transportation is situated near Adams Lake State Park where guests have opportunities to relax and enjoy outdoor recreation that may benefit recovery. Other places for sober recreation and personal reflection include The Edge of Appalachia Preserve System and the Joan Jones Portman Trail.
