About Family Recovery Center Prevention

The Family Recovery Center, in Lisbon, Ohio, provides outpatient addiction treatment services and various substance use prevention programs. This is their main administrative office, and the counseling office is next door on the same street. They also offer a 72 hour residential OVI program.

The Center takes Medicaid and private insurance plans. I appreciate that they also have help for those with no insurance and low to no income.

A Variety of Specialty Programs for Addiction Treatment

The Family Recovery Center offers traditional outpatient treatment with individual and group therapy along with medication assisted treatment (MAT). Their MAT program offers multiple different options, including Suboxone, Naltrexone, Vivitrol, Sublocade and Brixadi.

What caught my eye were their unique specialty programs. For example, they have Rethinking Our Anger Responses for those who struggle with anger management, as well as Juvenile Anger Management (JAM).

There’s also a program called The Edge which offers education and treatment to youth who are at risk of substance use or already using drugs and alcohol. Another program, Start Thinking, Avoid Risk Taking (START) offers similar services to young adults aged 18 to 25.

Steering Clear for OVI Offenders

Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated (OVI) charges in Ohio often require a certain amount of time in jail. Instead of spending time in jail, offenders can participate in the Family Recovery Center’s Steering Clear program.

This 72 hour program includes OVI evaluation as required by the court as well as substance use education and group discussion. There is a cash fee for this program and participants can request a private room for an extra fee.
