Finding Community in Wethersfield
I think finding places of respite within the community can be an important part of the healing process. Near the Wethersfield center is Mill Woods Park which offers places to walk, picnic and an outdoor swimming pond. This green space can be a great place to visit with friends and family while undergoing therapy.
A New Substance Use Disorder Clinic
When it comes to treating addiction, Hartford Healthcare Rehabilitation Network recently opened a substance use disorder clinic located in Windham to provide individuals with quality care and services. It’s about a forty five minute drive from the Wethersfield Center. If you’re in need of addiction treatment, staff members can refer you to this location.
The Ridge in Windham, Connecticut
This clinic has been transformed into an inpatient substance use treatment facility to work as a space for healing and renewal. This partnership strives to “enhance our ability to care for all people.” The comprehensive treatment plan includes withdrawal management, residential treatment, and sober living accommodations.
Other services are individual and group counseling and medication management. There are also services that support holistic healing through art and pet therapy, meditation and sound healing.
I think it’s important to approach the whole person through treatment, focusing on the body, mind and spirit. To encourage physical health, the facility also includes a Planet fitness center, trails, yoga and movement classes.
Levels of Care
Inpatient drug rehab in Connecticut is the most intensive level of care for addiction treatment. Upon admission, they engage in extensive psychotherapy, receive recovery-focused life skills training, and participate in evidence-based complementary therapies, such as meditation, massage, acupuncture, and/or animal, creative arts, recreational, and experiential therapy.
