About Brookings Ivy Center
Brookings Ivy Center in Brookings, South Dakota, offers behavioral health services for clients of all ages. They provide both mental health and addiction services including medication assisted treatment (MAT). The Ivy Center accepts several major insurance providers, Medicare and Medicaid and offers a sliding fee scale.
Outpatient Treatment in Brookings
Ivy Center offers a range of treatments for folks grappling with addiction. They offer substance use evaluations; individual, couple and family counseling; DUI educational groups; and aftercare.
One of their best offerings, in my opinion, is their MAT program. This combines therapy with FDA-approved medications to treat severe alcohol and opioid use disorders.
They also offer case management services to connect you to community resources, help you with overwhelming paperwork and get you into wellness groups and systems of care. If you need more intensive treatment, they’ll make a referral for inpatient treatment for you.
I like that they also have a continuing care program for when you finish treatment. This gives you continued connection to your support community and access to alumni events and networking opportunities.
Family Support and Education
I feel that one of Ivy’s striking features is their CRAFT program. It’s a family group program that supports loved ones dealing with a family member’s addiction. Here, families get support, tools and education to help themselves and their affected loved ones.
This program aims to improve family dynamics and interpersonal relationships. Participants learn how to avoid enabling behaviors and codependency as well as create new healthy family patterns they can put into practice right away.
