About Discovery Wellness Center

At the Discovery Wellness Center, experienced therapists teach clients the skills and tools they need to obtain and maintain sobriety. In a warm and nurturing environment in Cedar Knolls, New Jersey, clients can restore their lives to a healthy balance and develop good coping strategies for their addictive behaviors, substance use issues, and co-occurring mental health conditions. I appreciate that the Discovery Wellness Center accepts most major insurance plans.

Services for All Ages

I think it’s very positive that Discovery serves a wide range of populations including young children, adolescents, adults, the elderly, couples and families. Outpatient services include chemical dependency and addiction counseling, eating disorder treatment, couples counseling and family therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and art therapy. The Center also offers substance use intervention, bereavement counseling and psychoeducation.

It’s great that they also offer Gestalt therapy, which is a type of psychotherapy that helps clients become more aware of themselves and their issues, how their choices impact their relationships, and how their thoughts, feelings and actions interact. Self-acceptance is one of the key principles of Gestalt therapy, and activities such as role-playing or the empty chair technique are used to help clients explore their internal selves and solve problems.

I appreciate that the Wellness Center has flexible hours of operation. Their evening and day sessions can help clients fit treatment around other daily commitments.
