About The Dimock Center
Located on a nine-acre campus in Roxbury, Massachusetts, Dimock Community Health Center provides healthcare and behavioral health services to adults, children, and families. Here, you can receive a number of health care services including primary care, obstetrics and gynecology, and addiction treatment. Outpatient (OP) counseling and mental health services can be found here. They also offer medication assisted treatment (MAT). A handful of residential programs treat pregnant women and men with substance use disorders.
Women’s renewal clinical stabilization services provide intensive clinical support for up to 20 women for one to four weeks. For women in early recovery, this program will help them reflect on and refocus their lives. It includes trauma informed care and harm reduction. Residents receive a roadmap to recovery and an effective plan for continued treatment.
Ruth Kelly’s Ummi House provides housing and intensive care for pregnant and parenting women. Families live on site in this program between six and 24 months. This is a long-term stabilization program for women and families who have experienced extensive trauma.
Askia Academy focuses on men who are in need of ongoing recovery and can accommodate up to 24 people at a time. Here programming will address family stabilization, employment preparation, and group support for recovery.
In addition to offering substance abuse evaluations, you can access specific outpatient recovery groups like relapse prevention, parenting, and anger management. The Structured Outpatient Addiction Program includes five days per week of treatment with a structured three hour treatment session per day. This program typically lasts between three and six weeks.
One review that I found interesting stated that in a for-profit healthcare system, the difference between a big hospital and a community healthcare center is stark and great. Another person who was satisfied with the services said they cannot speak highly enough about this facility saying they are a diamond in the rough.
