About Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services

Didi Hirsch is a substance use disorder (SUD), mental health, and suicide prevention treatment organization that has been providing services since 1942. The organization has the largest suicide prevention center in the nation. The Joint Commission accredits the programs and they have locations throughout Los Angeles County.

The organization accepts private insurance for some programs. They take Medi-Cal and offer an income based sliding fee scale. They won’t turn anyone away from services for an inability to pay.

Previously, the organization operated the Didi Hirsch Jump Street facility that was located on La Cienega Boulevard. The Jump Street facility is now permanently closed.

Around the Clock Crisis Treatment Center

Jump Street was open 24/7 and was a crisis residential treatment center for adults. They offered medication support and psychiatric services.

The facility was about 12 miles from Playa Del Rey Beach and only 10 minutes from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the La Brea Tar Pits and Museum. The facility was in a bustling urban area in the vicinity of the Wilshire neighborhood’s Miracle Mile, which is home to many cultural institutions.

Unique Youth Wellness Services

I’m glad to see that despite the closure of the Jump Street location, the organization still offers addiction and mental health treatment, as well as suicide prevention services. They have a unique youth wellness center for individuals ages 15-25, where young people can connect with support systems they trust while being empowered to create a better future for themselves.

The youth center, called Our Third Place, offers crisis counseling at all hours. I think it’s great that young people can shower, do laundry, get extra clothes, food and hygiene kits. It’s a safe place where they can relax and connect with others.

They offer practical support and creative outlets. The location offers free group and individual mental health services. Young people can get the help they need to get on their feet and move into a better future.
