About Destination Hope Transitional Living

Destination Hope is accredited by The Joint Commission and offers mental health and substance abuse treatments. They’re located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. They accept all insurance carriers and offer payment plans for clients who need it. Unlike some centers that offer dual diagnosis treatment, Destination Hope serves clients who have a primary mental illness, regardless of their substance use status.

Destination Hope treats a host of mental health issues including schizophrenia, PTSD, eating disorders, trauma recovery and more. They offer everything from inpatient treatment and residential housing to outpatient programs and case management.

They have a medical detox unit as well as residential and outpatient treatments separately for mental health and substance abuse. Once you progress through the withdrawal stage, you can step down into residential care.

Their inpatient programs include a bunch of daily recovery activities as well as time for relaxation and unwinding. recovery activities include counseling sessions in individual and group formats, support group meetings and recreational activities.

Since stress can play such a negative role in people's recovery, there are many opportunities for you to pursue your interests and rest. You'll have time to have leisure activities with peers, exercise and participate in wellness activities. You'll learn how to control stress with lots of different techniques like breath work, Qigong, and journaling.

The partial hospitalization program includes individual and group therapy and perhaps even family sessions. It may also include medication management, and job skills training. Lunch is provided and you'll attend every day for six hours a day. The next level down is the intensive outpatient program. Here, you'll attend a minimum of nine hours a week either during the day or evenings. You'll follow up with a psychiatrist every week for medication management and any other mental health concerns you have.

The extended care treatment program is the final stage of the journey. This gives clients a chance to put their new skills to the test. There’s also a strong alumni program for graduates.

Amenities

Private Rehab

Private drug rehab provides a comfortable, secure environment that allows you to focus on doing the work to get your life back on track. Benefits include a higher staff-to-client ratio, increased one-on-one time with therapists and healthcare providers, private rooms for clients, and customized forms of therapy.

Art Therapy

Art and music are mediums that connect with our feelings, making them a great recovery tool during addiction treatment. Studies show that combining art/music and drug rehab can have a greater therapeutic impact than drug rehab alone, as you’re able to access parts of your brain and body that you may not have access to during traditional talk therapy. Benefits of art/music therapy include lowering stress and anxiety, promoting healthy neurochemicals, and providing stress relief.

Private Rooms

In order to maintain a sense of autonomy, many private rehab facilities offer clients the ability to choose their own private rooms. The privacy and personal space ensure that the recovery process is as comfortable as possible.
