About DeKalb Regional Crisis Center

If you’re in urgent need of an immediate addiction or mental health evaluation, the Claratel DeKalb Regional Crisis Center is a place where you can find the resources you need. Located in northern Decatur, Georgia, this crisis facility has a short term residential unit that can provide treatment for up to seven days after admission.

One of the first things that stood out to me about this facility is that they work with police, who are often the first ones called when someone’s in crisis. In this way, they can serve as an alternative to jails for people with mental illness.

Providing Care for a Variety of Mental and Behavioral Health Needs

After the initial intake and stabilization, they can offer a referral to a facility that’s best suited to give you the care you need. As a part of the Claratel group, they can connect you with a facility within their network that provides residential substance use treatment or outpatient treatment. These facilities are also located only a short distance from the crisis center.

The group’s substance use treatment programs include a residential opioid use treatment program, detox services, counseling, family therapy, and medication assisted treatment. It’s also worth noting that all of these programs are available to individuals on Medicare and Medicaid.

Quality Counseling for Co Occurring Conditions

Claratel provides mental and behavioral health treatment for issues other than addiction. Beyond this, they also offer psychosocial day treatment and employment support, both of which can play a vital role in your recovery.
