About Tionesta Health Center

The Tionesta Health Center in Tionesta, Pennsylvania, is a family medicine clinic in the Meadville Medical Center system. It’s been around for 125 years. While they don’t provide substance use disorder or mental health care, they can refer you to those providers within MMC and elsewhere. But that doesn’t mean that they can’t play a role in your recovery journey.

Services provided by family medicine can support drug recovery before, during, and after treatment. Through screenings, monitoring, and medication prescriptions, they can support your sobriety.

Medicare is accepted here. Tionesta also offers financial assistance. Please note the Health Center is open only on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Partners in Co-Occurring Care

What I like about incorporating family medicine into your addiction recovery efforts is that it can help you address and manage co-occurring disorders like depression and anxiety. Treating such comorbid conditions is important to strengthening your sobriety and preventing relapse. That, in addition to other physical health concerns that may come up, including those resulting from or worsened by substance abuse.

SUDs at MMC

Both of MMC’s drug and alcohol addiction treatment facilities are conveniently located in Meadville, right next to the Allegheny River. Their programs include medically managed inpatient detox and outpatient treatment. What I appreciate about their drug programming is that they offer 24/7 help by phone, so if you need assistance when they aren’t open, they still provide guidance to someone who can support you.

Yoga and meditation are great activities to support your recovery process during alcohol or drug rehab.
