About Cumberland County Guidance Center
Cumberland County Guidance Center is located on 26 acres of quiet wooded land and includes two large buildings. Here you’ll find outpatient services, adult partial care, integrated case management and community support services. They treat addiction, mental health disorders and psychiatric disorders. Supportive employment services and intensive family support services are also provided on this main campus.
Outpatient services include individual, group, and family therapy with psychiatric evaluations. These services treat substance abuse and behavioral or emotional issues. Their goal is to improve current functioning, decrease stress symptoms, and change unhealthy behaviors. You’ll learn new coping strategies and gain emotional support resources.
The adult partial care program is a full-day program for people who have severe or persistent mental illness. This runs Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Treatment will help you become independent and improve your quality of life.
During programming, you’ll engage in process groups, social and leisure activities, and psychoeducation. You’ll receive medication monitoring and pre-vocational training. There are also dual recovery services including Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous meetings. Transportation to and from the facility, as well as meals and snacks, are included.
People who are living in the community with severe mental illness can make use of this organization’s community support services. These supportive services may include financial assistance, illness management, and crisis care.
A former client said Cumberland County Guidance Center helped them get their medication right and helped them get into therapy. Other people say it’s hard to get a hold of the staff and make an appointment when you’re in crisis.
