About Crossroads Scarborough
Crossroads Scarborough in Maine provides gender-responsive treatment for substance abuse disorder (SUD), mental health, and behavioral issues to adults aged 18 and older. Support is available to men, women, and parents, with a particular focus on female-identifying individuals. Dual-diagnosis care forms a key part of their programming, addressing commonly co-occurring mental health conditions, and specializing in eating disorder recovery.
Crossroads’ women-only residential treatment follows an evidence-based approach, with trauma-informed care playing a central role. Uniquely designed to target both addiction and eating disorders, their team treats respective conditions with integrated care and with the utmost respect for the individual and their needs. This approach is one of the many elements that sets this facility apart. Neither strictly a drug rehab or an eating disorder recovery clinic, it tackles both effectively and is one of the few facilities to do so in both Maine and New England.
Residential treatment is designed to be intimate, and as a 10-bed program, it’s recommended for women who would benefit from the safety and comfort of its routine structure and the guaranteed 24/7 support of its staff. Partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient play host to similar treatment modalities as the residential program. Family involvement is a key element, as part of both educational and counseling sessions, as well as 12-step work. Relapse prevention, along with individual, group, and couples therapy are also included.
Parenting and child support services are available, with specialized support for both pregnant and post-partum people. The facility also offers a ‘Driver Education and Evaluation Program’ (DEEP) for individuals who have committed driving under the influence (DUI). Crossroads is certified to offer treatment, evaluation, and education for these cases, including counseling.
