About Alcoholism & Addiction Assistance Association

The Alcoholism and Addiction Assistance Association offers transitional living situations for newly sober individuals with substance use disorder (SUD). One of the locations is Craig Shell’s New Solution in Phoenix, Arizona where clients live, work, and attend 12 Step meetings. They’ve been around since 2004 and assist men and women.

Extended Care in a Safe Environment in Phoenix

Phoenix is the capital of Arizona and is known for its high end resorts, distinctive museums, and serene desert gardens. It’s also the fifth largest city in the United States with sunny weather and a thriving economy. You can explore the area as you recover; it’ll be like seeing your community with new eyes. This strikes me as a good place to practice your newly sober lifestyle, and the association offers that opportunity through their 5A homes.

The association has been helping clients live a sober lifestyle for 50 years. The home is coed and gives clients a temporary spot as they move toward a permanent home.

The transitional house lets clients practice their sobriety with lots of support before returning to their lives. Clients can come and go to work and school but must adhere to house requirements.

One thing I think helps clients the most is the rigorous attendance of 12 Step meetings in the house and the community. You must have a 12 Step sponsor, a daily chore, and a service commitment. This environment offers a much-needed transition between inpatient treatment and a return to your daily life.
