About Counseling Plus

Counseling Plus is a CARF accredited addiction rehab center in Silver Spring, Maryland. They foster personal growth through quality substance use and mental health services. They strive to create an environment of empathy, kindness and respect for the client's culture. These guiding principles inform their tailored approach to addiction recovery that delivers optimum healing.

Past clients have said good things about this facility, from their friendly and experienced staff to their impressive quality of care. The best part is that the facility accepts Medicaid alongside many private insurances. This keeps costs low and services more accessible. Another attribute we find attractive is that they offer services in English and Spanish. This accommodates broader audiences including folks from the Hispanic community.

Evidence Based Addiction and Dual Diagnosis

Counseling Plus offers outpatient substance use and dual diagnoses treatment that draws from clinically proven models like Stages of Change. This model enables you to move through recovery at your own pace. It starts by recognizing where you’re in your recovery journey.

Each stage has specific strategies, like raising awareness in the early stages or building skills to prevent relapse later on. By meeting you where you are, this model creates a personalized path to healing.

Family counseling may be provided as well to strengthen your support network. Additionally they offer psychiatric evaluation and medication management to support dually diagnosed patients.

Certified and Approved DUI/DWI Program

Counseling Plus is licensed by the state of Maryland and approved by the MVA to offer services for folks charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Depending on your initial evaluation, you may be recommended for the 12 hours alcohol and drug education or DUI treatment.

The alcohol and drug education program aims to boost your awareness about the risks and effects of substance use so you can make smart decisions. It empowers you with knowledge, tools and strategies for maintaining sobriety and preventing another violation. This can be completed in six weeks. DUI treatment involves 26 sessions that usually last 26 weeks. However, you may complete it in 13 weeks.
