About Counseling for Change
Counseling for Change was located on NW Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Evansville, Indiana. They are now permanently closed. They provided behavioral health counseling services to address and treat co-occurring mental health issues and substance use disorder.
Matrix IOP Program
They offered a matrix IOP program for those struggling with addiction and co-occurring mental health issues. This program encouraged long-term sobriety and was proven to show more participation in clinical sessions by clients, longer abstinence from drugs and alcohol and higher rates of drug free clients overall.
MRT Therapy for Juvenile and Adult Criminal Offenders
I find it interesting to know that they also utilized moral recognition therapy (MRT). This program was ideal for juvenile and adult criminal offenders, helping them to improve their moral reasoning skills. It utilized CBT therapy to address social, moral and positive behavior changes to encourage resiliency and changing negative behavior patterns.
The program would meet for a minimum of three to six weeks of treatment. I like that they also focused on other therapy models including EMDR, trauma therapy, one-on-one counseling and family therapy and provided you with life skills to increase your confidence and resistance to relapse. In addition, they provided treatment for those struggling with an addiction to gambling.
