About Cornerstone
Cornerstone is a not-for-profit drug and alcohol rehab in Carmichael, CA. This residential addiction treatment facility is home to eleven beds for women aged 18 and older who are struggling with substance use disorder. They use a social model and are a non-medical, 24-hour treatment facility.
Residents receive an initial assessment, group counseling, educational groups, relapse prevention skills, treatment planning, individual counseling sessions, and appropriate referrals. Program participants also attend AA or NA meetings out in the community. By attending 12-step groups, Cornerstone believes women can immerse themselves in the principle of the 12 steps, interact with their peers, and maintain their sobriety.
In addition to addiction treatment, residents learn how to manage responsibilities in a sober living environment. These daily routines include cooking healthy meals, cleaning, doing laundry, and planning leisure activities. Alumni from Cornerstone keep in contact with the facility and often help new residents with their recovery.
