About Compass Recovery Center
Compass Recovery Center was an outpatient treatment center for adolescents and adults with substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health issues. The facility was located in Ravenna, Ohio, convenient to State Route 59.
Clients were able to use Medicaid for payment. They also offered a sliding fee scale for uninsured clients to ensure the program was affordable.
Compass had outpatient, intensive outpatient (IOP), and aftercare addiction treatment programs. They also offered outpatient detoxification and medication assisted treatment (MAT). Smoking was permitted in designated areas of the facility. This program is now permanently closed.

There’s also a sizeable lake that's good for boating and fishing. I thought it was nice that clients in the outpatient program were able to use this park to find peace for reflection between treatments.
The outpatient programs helped clients master the coping skills necessary to maintain sobriety. Clients engaged in education to learn about the disease of addiction. They participated in individual and group therapy, as well as other evidence based treatments.

The treatment team had experience with many types of clients, including welcoming clients from the LGBTQ+ community. Additionally, they treated Veterans and active duty military personnel.
I thought it was nice that they had experience treating clients with HIV/AIDS, which can come with a unique set of challenges. They also had tailored programs for pregnant and postpartum women, who can benefit from medication assisted treatment (MAT) for detox.
The level of experience was reflected in comments from clients. Clients mentioned that the staff was willing to help every client through whatever obstacles they were facing. Additionally, the staff was praised for being helpful and compassionate.
