About Community Mental Health

Community Mental Health Midland County Center provides mental health services for residents of Midland, Michigan and the surrounding area. They specialize in serving adults, children and families. They serve six counties in the surrounding area offering psychoeducation for mental health conditions and behavioral health treatment for substance use disorder. Psychoeducation is provided for conditions like anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

The substance use disorder treatment includes a comprehensive grouping of services when you have a co-occurring disorder. To be eligible, you must have both a serious mental illness and a substance use disorder or addiction. They use an integrated model of care to treat both conditions simultaneously.

The clinical staff are experienced and skilled at treating the whole person and not just a group of symptoms. The integrated Dually Diagnosed Treatment teams can also be connected to the Assertive Community Treatment team. They work together to provide stage-matched interventions so you receive the treatment you need at the stage in recovery you are.

The program begins with Access, Assessment and Referral which helps determine your need for services and helps you get to the right service and provider. The intensive outpatient program offers frequent and longer counseling sessions than a traditional outpatient program.

Subacute detoxification provides medical care in a residential setting as you're withdrawing from alcohol or other drugs. They also provide methadone to people with an opioid dependence disorder, which includes nursing services and lab testing. They accept Medicaid and Community Mental Health Services and work with your primary care physician to coordinate the care you receive. If you don't have a primary care physician, they help you find one.
