About Community Counseling Services Columbus Main Counseling Office

In Columbus, Mississippi, Community Counseling Services has a range of residential and outpatient addiction treatment and mental health support programs. They date back to 1963. Their recovery department is called Pines and Cady Hill Recovery Center. I like that this location is in historic downtown Columbus and uses individualized interventions.

You’ll choose from primary and transitional residential programs or an intensive outpatient program. They can also connect you to one of their other locations called Caprice Recovery Living which is a sober living facility.

I find that this is a well-rounded treatment center because the residential program focuses on co-occurring disorders and trauma therapy. They get to the core of your addiction by understanding the reasons behind it. The primary residential program is at least 14 days with over 30 hours of clinical care per week. You’ll engage in group therapy, psychoeducational groups, and learn coping skills.

The transitional residential program focuses on applying learned skills to life outside of the recovery center. You’ll leave for recovery meetings and work and then return to process your experiences.

The intensive outpatient program is ideal for you if you need to live at home and attend work or school. This program meets for nine hours of group therapy per week. Clients also receive one individual counseling session each week.

I noticed that they offer outpatient recovery support services that are non-clinical in nature. These include group support, social activities, and connection to a larger recovery support network. Exercise can be a healthy way to cope with stress, and the center is near the local YMCA and Stark Recreation Center.

People who’ve used Community Counseling Services mention that it’s a laid back atmosphere with a short wait time. Others mentioned that this organization can be unprofessional at times.
