About Community Counseling Center Lou Masterman Center
The main office of the Community Counseling center is located in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Treatment programs for substance use disorders are available for adults, adolescents and children. The organization is certified by the Missouri Department of Mental Health and is CARF accredited.
Private insurance is accepted, as well as Missouri Medicaid. If you’re uninsured, you’ll be able to privately pay for your services. They are able to provide you with a sliding fee schedule. The sliding fee schedule will be based on your household size and income.
The children and adolescent outpatient programs are for those individuals between the ages of nine years old up to 17 years old. They offer two programs: the intensive outpatient program (IOP) and the outpatient program (OP).
Your child will attend the intensive outpatient program on a weekly basis for a total of nine to 19 hours per week. The outpatient program is one to five hours per week. Both programs will provide your child with individual counseling, group therapy and substance use education. Co-occurring treatment is available as long as there is a substance use disorder diagnosis.
The adult program is for individuals 18 years of age and older. As with the program for adolescents, adults will also attend individual and group counseling, as well as substance use education. The difference is that additional support can be added such as peer support and case management.
For adults, you attend intensive outpatient treatment for nine to 19 hours per week. The outpatient program requires one to eight hours per week.
Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is offered to adults through their outpatient withdrawal management program. There is no extended onsite monitoring. You’ll just be contacted daily to monitor your withdrawal symptoms.
Medical oversight is required. I do like that a physical exam will be included. They will also obtain your medical history. If they are unable to manage your withdrawal symptoms in the outpatient setting, they will provide a referral for inpatient detox.
