About Colville Tribal Correctional Facility

The Colville Tribal Alcohol and Drug Program offers regular outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment for clients who are coping with alcohol or substance abuse within the Colville Reservation. It’s located at the Colville Tribal Correctional Facility in Nespelem, Washington.

The services at this facility can be paid through Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE, or IHS/Tribal/Urban (ITU) funds. Clients also have the option of using private health insurance, SAMHSA funding, or self payment.

Culturally Sensitive Addiction Treatment Services for the Colville Tribes

One thing I noticed that sets this center apart from other treatment centers is that it specifically caters to tribal nations within the Colville Reservation. All services at this facility are completely tailored to meet the needs of the Colville Tribal community.

Residents from other Native American reservations can receive treatment here, but everything will be culturally sensitive to the Colville tribe. That said, addiction treatment services include sweat lodge sessions, spiritual ceremonies, counseling, and peer groups.

Both smoking and vaping are permitted in designated areas of the facility, so you’re welcome to have a smoke break while on site.

Treatment for Tribal Members in the Justice System and Beyond

The facility serves adolescents, adults and seniors. They welcome LBGTQ+ clients, veterans, and active military members.

They can also work with clients who have co occurring addiction and mental health conditions, clients who have experienced trauma, and clients who have been referred to treatment by the judicial system.

Serving the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation

The Colville Reservation is made up of over 1.4 million acres of space. Currently, tribal enrollment is at 9,290. Natives from the reservation or abroad can recover peacefully surrounded by the natural landscapes offered in Nespelem.

Clients can also visit the nearby Colville Tribal Museum for an educational getaway.
