Columbia River Mental Health Services

Located in Vancouver, Washington, the Columbia River Mental Health Main Clinic is an organization that provides a range of services to adults and adolescents who need physical and mental health treatment. There's a specialized substance use treatment program offered through the North Star Clinic. Here, you'll have access to supportive care for any opioid addiction you may be facing. Care is offered in an outpatient setting, and you can get referred to other supports such as housing.

Often, recovery from an opioid use disorder will require you to move through a period of detoxification. This allows your body to safely wean off of its chemical dependency so that you can begin treatment. Here, you'll have access to FDA approved medications like methadone, buprenorphine, and Vivitrol. These medications can help you manage your withdrawal symptoms. Continuing with them through medication assisted treatment (MAT) will also help you manage cravings.

To help supplement MAT, there is a general outpatient and intensive outpatient program (IOP) offered here. These programs include one on one counseling with experienced addiction therapists. These therapists will help you understand how to build healthy habits as you progress through recovery. You'll learn how to identify triggers and stressful emotions that have contributed to your drug use.

There's also group counseling offered here as well. You’ll work with peers facing similar struggles and will continue to develop practical life skills. Other supports you'll have access to include case management. Through this, you'll get connected to other resources in your community such as 12 Step style programs like Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous. There are also employment services available as well as housing referrals if you need a supportive place to live both during and after your treatment.
