About Colonial House Inpatient Facility
Colonial House Inpatient Facility is a residential substance use treatment facility in York, Pennsylvania. This program is suitable if you need more time and structure to develop the independent skills needed to maintain recovery. They offer a safe, structured and conducive setting where you can build skills for sober living without distractions.
The program blends evidence based models and 12 Step practices in their personalized care. Their full treatment schedule involves daily group therapy, individual counseling and family consults. The programming also includes lectures, workshops and relapse prevention.
You’ll get the chance to understand how 12 Step support works and start building your recovery skills while tackling early challenges. You’re encouraged to explore various recovery options through community based sober support. This includes Refuge Recovery, Celebrate Recovery and Ex-Offenders Group. You become eligible for sober support after your 60th day of residency. This means you can schedule a day each week to go to a meeting with a sober support member from the community.
Evidence based relapse prevention training is provided weekly. You’ll learn symptoms and warning sign recognition and the importance of having a sober support network. They’ll teach you what to be aware of to avoid relapse. You’ll participate in at least one individual session weekly with your primary counselor. These sessions enable you to explore your thoughts and address emotions that contribute to your substance misuse. Your primary counselor will help you set realistic recovery goals and monitor progress as needed.
Group therapy sessions are held four times weekly. They boast a small sized therapy group that fosters an atmosphere of closeness, a higher trust level and encourages more risk-taking. It also allows for peer input and community support/engagement. They even offer a separate group focusing on the Trauma Recovery Empowerment Model.
Family involvement and support are emphasized. They even offer family educational workshops covering anger management, addiction and the family's role in recovery. This workshop also addresses relapse processes, home contracts and codependency.
You’ll also participate in psychoeducational classes provided via films, reading assignments and lectures. This can give you insight into the impact of addiction on your life. It also teaches practical ways to manage recovery. This may include anger management, self esteem improvement and developing effective coping mechanisms.
Their life skills training sessions equip you with more valuable skills like relaxation/stress management and exercise and wellness habits. You’ll also learn resume building and job search. These skills are helpful as you reintegrate into the community.
You’re expected to actively participate in the general upkeep and complete your assigned chores. This helps you build character and promote responsibility on a personal or team level. By the end of your stay you’re expected to develop strong independent living skills and a support network to help you transition smoothly while staying sober.
