About CODAC Providence

CODAC Behavioral Health is a CARF-certified treatment facility located in Providence, Rhode Island. They provide treatment to adults and veterans who are struggling with mental health and substance abuse disorders. This can also include gambling addiction. The levels of care they offer here are intensive (IOP) and traditional outpatient (OP) treatment and medication assisted treatment (MAT).

This facility accepts VA life insurance.

What catches my eye the most about them is their focus on helping you improve your quality of life. They offer a variety of health and wellness services to help support your healing journey like case management, nutrition education, anger management, expressive arts and journaling.

Nutrition education informs you with healthy alternatives to unhealthy eating habits and helps you develop a better diet and brings more awareness to how you care for your physical health. This helps reduce the chances of developing chronic illnesses and even if you are dealing with illness, nutrition education helps you create better selections and increase awareness.

Anger management helps and provides guidance on how to manage anger and deal with stress in a more holistic approach. They will provide you with tools that will help you with coping, triggers, and address conflicts. This therapy also encourages you to take personal responsibility and increase self awareness.

Medication assisted therapy and outpatient care can be most beneficial during the early stage of your journey in healing. Taking this prescription medication along with receiving counseling develops a strong foundation to help you move forward. This medication helps relieve cravings and withdrawals from the effects of chemical dependency.

They provide more flexibility by offering intensive outpatient and traditional outpatient care. Intensive outpatient ranges between four to six weeks with nine hours of treatment a week. Traditional outpatient is less intense and while working with a counselor they will help you determine what you will benefit the most from with where you are on your journey.
