About Coastal Recovery Center

Located in suburban Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Coastal Recovery offers clients a relaxing atmosphere to focus on recovery. They are an outpatient facility that provides intensive outpatient services, partial hospitalization, and other levels of care. As their name implies, they’re pretty close to the Atlantic shoreline.

You’ll be able to make use of various amenities, such as their recreational activities and their group and private therapy sessions. Their treatment team is trained to help clients with co-occurring issues such as trauma, anxiety and depression.

In the partial hospitalization program, you’ll attend a processing group in the mornings to discuss experiences and life events that may be affecting your recovery. It provides you an opportunity to receive peer support and connection.

The next part of your day will focus on educational groups that focus on topics such as coping skills, family dynamics, and relapse prevention. After lunch, you’ll participate in afternoon processing groups to process events of the day and work through your emotions.

The intensive outpatient program is similar but with a shorter amount of time in processing groups. You’ll participate in individual and group therapy and receive education about addiction and recovery, as well as relaxation and wellness activities.

One service I like that they provide is the family therapy workshop. Coastal Recovery knows that family members can often feel an emotional burden seeing their loved one deal with addiction. The workshop will provide families with education and tools to help them mentally and physically function better.

When you’ve completed your treatment, the facility will provide aftercare services such as sober living support and monitoring. The treatment team will be in constant contact to help you with your ongoing needs.
