About Childrens Recovery Center
Children's Recovery Center is an inpatient, trauma informed psychiatric care facility in Norman, Oklahoma. Their services are available for adolescents 12 to 17 years old.
They are a 55 bed hospital. The hallmark services are emergency crisis evaluations and intervention services, referral and emergency linkage services, and psychiatric residential treatment services for adolescents facing mental health or substance use emergencies.
Their programs include a psychiatric residential treatment program and a crisis stabilization program. These programs are further divided into two wings. Their psychiatric residential treatment program provides round the clock psychiatric care for those who are scheduled for intake.
Their crisis stabilization unit offers behavioral health crisis and walk-in intervention care for those who need to stay for shorter periods. They serve people suffering from behavioral health conditions, serious emotional disturbances, and substance use disorders.
They offer scheduled virtual visitations for crisis program clients throughout the week. These visits are coordinated by the assigned family therapist. They also provide telehealth via Zoom for visitation services and family therapy for all the clients. During their stay, the patients get basic toiletries, bedding and schoolwork from the facility.
They are the only inpatient program for minors in the ODMHSAS system. They are a member of the OK Healthcare Coalition for Region 6/8 and the Cleveland County Mental Health Task Force. They are also a teaching hospital.
They are licensed by Oklahoma Department of Human Services as Residential Child Care Facility. They hold accreditation from The Joint Commission. They got "Excellence" status as a Healthy Business by the Oklahoma State Department of Health.
