Child and Family Guidance Center

Child and Family Guidance Center’s Palmdale location is a mental health and addiction intervention and prevention treatment center. They strive to ensure children and families around Palmdale are equipped with the skills and knowledge to avoid falling into chemical dependency.

While they serve anyone in need, the majority of their clients have lower income and are from at risk communities. They accept Medi Cal and LA Care. If you don’t have insurance, you can apply for their sliding fee scale.

Empowering the Youth of Palmdale and Los Angeles County

This facility currently serves clients from birth until the age of 26, supporting over 10,000 children and families every year. Many of their clients are between the ages of six and twelve.

They offer substance abuse services, counseling, case management services, group support, individualized therapy, intensive crisis support programs, and general outpatient support.

One feature I like about this facility is that they are very accessible. They’re willing to provide services at school, in clients’ homes, or in collaboration with other social service agencies at their locations. You can also access care in English and Spanish.

A History of Community Based Treatment and Care in Palmdale

I also think it’s beneficial that they work with various local and national partners to provide services. Some of their partners include the Palmdale School District, Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, Valley Community Healthcare, Anthem Blue Cross, Mental Health First Aid, and the California Alliance.

Another great feature that caught my eye was their history of stellar care. The facility was established in 1962, meaning they’ve operated successfully and efficiently for over 60 years.
