About Chambers and Blohm Psychiatric Services
Since 2001, Chambers and Blohm Psychiatric Services has been a private practice for a variety of mental health issues. You'll find 'em located out in a commercial corner of Bismarck, North Dakota. They offer in-person and telehealth dialectical behavior therapy skills groups for adolescents who struggle with their emotions under high stress, which may result in alcohol and drug abuse. The program is 24 weeks long and sometimes has a waiting list.
You learn skills to cope with challenging emotions during the program. These are divided into five domains, four of which belong to dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). These include mindfulness, emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance. The group is open to adolescents aged 13 to 17.
In addition to group therapy, each teen must have an individual therapist, either within the clinic or at another location. The sessions are held on Monday evenings. You can place your name on a waiting list to join a cohort when it opens. If you don't have a therapist, they're staffed with child and adolescent psychotherapists who can address substance use disorder and co-occurring anger management, sleep problems, eating disorders, or trauma.
In between counseling sessions, you can spend some downtime in Custer Park or other greenspaces to unwind. The Bismarck Veterans Memorial Library is also not too far away.
They work with most insurance companies, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicaid expansion, Sanford Health, and Medicare. They work with some Medicare Advantage Programs and offer self-pay rates and out of network options. The billing department can help verify your insurance coverage before beginning treatment.
