About Casa Serena

Casa Serena is a womens drug rehab center located near the stunning beaches of Santa Barbara, California. Levels of care include a detox program, outpatient treatment, an intensive outpatient program, a residential program, a partial hospitalization program, transitional living and aftercare. Dual diagnosis care is also available to those struggling with concurrent mental health issues.

Casa Serena offers medically assisted drug detox with 24/7 care within its residential detox facility. Detox can last three to 10 days, with clients who complete it moving on to Casa Serena’s residential program.

Residential treatment at Casa Serena takes a trauma informed approach and features personalized, holistic treatment plans. Support includes case management and individual and group therapy. Clients also engage in holistic activities such as somatic experiencing, gardening, yoga and fitness, nutrition development and expressive arts.

The partial hospitalization program allows individuals to access the same level of intensive care offered in residential treatment, without having to stay overnight. Individual and group therapy, family counseling and peer support groups are offered. Modalities include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, trauma informed therapy, shame resilience, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing and other alternative therapies.

The intensive outpatient program at Casa Serena allows similar flexibility to the partial hospitalization program and similarly involves individual and group therapy as well as peer support groups. This program also offers life skills development and educational sessions.

Casa Serena’s outpatient program follows an evidence based approach, offering full and half-day schedules with a rotating curriculum. Individual and group therapy are available in a variety of modalities.

Casa Serena’s transitional and sober living homes offer a stepping stone post-residential treatment for those needing continued community support for a sustainable recovery. Individuals can expect to attend 12 Step programs and ongoing treatment such as therapy, life skills education and employment search support.

Casa Serena alumni are privy to weekly group meetings, regular social events and holiday celebrations as part of a lifetime aftercare support network.

Casa Serena offers self pay, financial support and payment plan options. Many commercial insurance options are accepted, including Aetna, Anthem, Blue of California, Kaiser, Cigna and United Healthcare. Clients are advised to clarify coverage with individual providers regarding out of network benefits.
