About The Carter Clinic Raleigh

The Carter Clinic provides mental health and substance abuse treatments for clients in Raleigh, North Carolina. They support North Carolinians through 12 locations across the state including this location. They accept most insurance plans including Medicare, Medicaid, BCBS, Cigna and more. If you don’t have coverage, they have a sliding scale.

The Carter Clinic treats a variety of mental illnesses such as bipolar disorder, ADHD, anxiety and depression, PTSD and childhood behavioral issues. They also treat alcohol and drug abuse. They offer medication assisted treatment for folks with opioid addiction. You’ll be prescribed a weekly dose of Suboxone through the MAT program.

Suboxone is an FDA approved medication that blocks the effect of opioids. It is less habit forming than methadone and comes in either a film or tablet that dissolves in your mouth. Having a weekly dose instead of a daily one is more convenient than other medications that have to be taken daily.

On top of medication, you’ll also have access to individual, couple or family therapy. These sessions can help you process the reasons that led to your addiction and develop new healthy patterns of living. If needed, you can get psychiatric assessments or a referral for psychological testing.

The Carter Clinic offers telehealth appointments via secure channels. I like that you’re able to get the support you need without necessarily coming into the clinic.

Their therapy service team includes licensed behavioral health and addiction therapists and peer support specialists. The psychiatric team is made of nurse practitioners, physicians and board certified psychiatrists.
