About Pinehurst Comprehensive Treatment Center
Pinehurst Comprehensive Treatment Center provides outpatient medication assisted treatment (MAT) in suburban and woodsy Pinehurst, North Carolina. Adult males and females who are 18 years of age and older can receive treatment for opioid use disorder.
Insurance is accepted including Medicare, Medicaid and TRICARE. If you’re uninsured, the option of self pay is available. The organization is also state and publicly funded.
Before you begin treatment, you must be in a substance free, withdrawal state for 24-48 hours. You will then complete a thorough assessment at your intake, which can take between two to four hours. You’ll go over your substance use history, medical history, family history and your treatment goals. The assessment will help identify your specific needs so that a personalized treatment plan can be developed. This ensures that all your treatment needs will be met for a successful long term recovery.
One of the center's physicians will conduct a complete physical exam. The exam will also include drug testing and tuberculosis testing. If you have proof that you have had a tuberculosis test in the last two years, you can waive the test.
Following your assessment, you are going to meet with a member of their medical staff team. They will help determine whether methadone or a different medication should be included along with your treatment plan. The four FDA approved medications they choose from are methadone, Suboxone, naltrexone, and buprenorphine. The purpose of these medications is to help ease your withdrawal symptoms and reduce cravings so that you may be able to focus on your recovery journey.
You’ll be attending counseling services, along with their MAT program. In group counseling, you’ll develop relapse prevention strategies and practice health communication skills. You’ll also see that you are not alone on this journey, as you connect and learn from your peers' experiences. In individual counseling, you’ll reflect on how addiction has impacted your life. You’ll also learn to make changes that are healthy to support your recovery.
If you’re pregnant, you must not be in a state of withdrawal when you arrive for your intake appointment. Women will need to take a pregnancy test. You’ll need a letter from your OBGYN stating that they have approved you to receive treatment. I like that they will help you make arrangements if you don’t have an OBGYN. They will be able to coordinate your care with your OBGYN as long as you sign the release of information form.
Along with counseling, you can also go offsite to heal your spirit and get into shape. There are local churches nearby and gyms like the FirstHealth Fitness Center can help you unwind and find healthier means of coping besides drugs. Camelot Playground is also not too far away if you’re looking for an excuse to get outdoors.
