Carastar Crisis Center is a 24/7 behavioral health crisis facility in Montgomery, Alabama serving adults and adolescents experiencing mental health and substance use emergencies.

The center provides crisis stabilization, psychiatric assessment, CBT informed counseling and dual diagnosis support, along with mobile crisis response across central Alabama.

24/7 Crisis Stabilization

Carastar Crisis Center specializes in rapid behavioral health crisis response, with short term observation beds for stays up to 23 hours and residential beds for stays up to seven days.

The team is equipped to address mental health crises, substance use emergencies and co-occurring conditions in one accessible location.

Care begins with a thorough assessment and may include psychiatric evaluation, medication management, individual counseling and cognitive behavioral therapy.

I want to note that staff use a trauma informed, person centered approach to stabilize symptoms and connect each individual to detox, outpatient or residential providers for continued recovery.

Mobile Crisis Outreach

Beyond on site services, Carastar offers mobile crisis response reaching Montgomery, Autauga, Elmore, Lowndes and surrounding counties.

I appreciate that this outreach prioritizes high need populations, including uninsured individuals and people experiencing homelessness, bringing behavioral health support directly into the community.

Getting Help

Carastar Crisis Center welcomes walk ins and crisis calls 24 hours a day at its Carmichael Road location in Montgomery, with mobile services available throughout central Alabama.
