About Canvas Health
The nonprofit Canvas Health has behavioral health and addiction services for both adolescents and adults. You'll find them in Forest Lake, Minnesota. They’re in a suburban strip mall, not too far from Clear Lake and Forest Lake.
Treatment is delivered through general outpatient programs. Family treatment services are also available. They will work with you to develop a care plan that addresses your unique needs, regardless of age or circumstance. This location also provides court ordered services. Finally, you'll receive care coordination as part of your treatment program.

Outpatient therapy is the most convenient level of care because it allows you to continue living at home and can easily fit into a busy schedule. However, it may not be appropriate for you depending on the severity of your symptoms. Staff will perform an assessment to determine your needs.
That being said, if you’re accepted into this clinic's outpatient program, you can expect to learn a lot about yourself as you work with your therapist. The goal is to develop new skills that help you resolve or otherwise cope with trauma in order to avoid substance use. It's a safe place where you can discuss anything that's bothering you and get the perspective of a professional, sympathetic ear. Treatment includes 12 Steps, crisis support, and case management services, so you'll have support in and out of sessions.
You may be interested in Canvas Health's telehealth option, too. This is a means of attending sessions remotely, via phone or computer. Telehealth ensures you can continue receiving care even when circumstances (such as illness or travel) would make that difficult. Even if you don't think you'll need it, it's not a bad option to have as a backup plan should something come up.
