About Camelot – Male Residential

Known for its historical buildings and green spaces, Staten Island in New York is home to Camelot’s Male Residential facility. Established in 1971, this nonprofit residential facility provides long term care for adult men battling addiction as well as behavioral, emotional, and family challenges.

Quality Care, Regardless of Finances

One great feature I noticed was their dedication to affordable care. They accept major insurance plans, Medicaid, and HMOs. Even if you don't have insurance, they structure fees based on your ability to pay. You may be eligible for a sliding scale fee discount based on your situation. That way, finances won't stand in the way of getting the help you need.

For me, their treatment duration really stood out. Clients' stays average about six to nine months. With longer treatment times, you can move at your own pace and have plenty of time to develop and practice healthy coping skills. They also offer an outpatient aftercare program with family counseling.

Vocational Services

Another standout feature that caught my eye was their vocational services. You'll benefit from ongoing support to explore careers and find a rewarding career. You can build a solid financial foundation to promote lasting recovery.

Recreational and Family Activities

I also think it's great that they offer recreational activities. You can explore sober fun and foster meaningful connections with peers on similar paths. Explore these activities with you to support a healthy lifestyle after treatment. If outdoor excursions are permitted, Blood Root Valley and other nearby attractions can spark new interests and healthy ways of coping without drugs.

Their Family Association stood out to me. You and your loved ones can receive weekly counseling in family group sessions. These groups can help your family understand recovery and how to cope with addiction.
