About Buckhead Behavioral Health

Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Buckhead Behavioral Health is a licensed and accredited addiction treatment facility for alcohol and substance abuse that serves adults aged 18+, regardless of ethnicity, sexuality, or background. They also provide support for co-occurring mental health issues and dual-diagnosis care.

Buckhead’s detox center is designed to support clients in the early stages of their addiction journey. Detox typically lasts around 5-10 days depending on client needs, and includes medical supervision to help manage those nasty withdrawal symptoms. Following this stage of treatment, clients will be assessed to determine which level of care would be most suitable.

Clients can choose from residential treatment, which usually lasts around 30 days and involves 24/7 intensive professional care. Partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs are available for those in need of further flexibility while they recover. One thing that’s great about this facility is how its website provides a detailed schedule of what its partial hospitalization and intensive programs look like day-to-day, hour-to-hour. It’s such a great resource for anyone who may be feeling apprehensive, or in need of reassurance of the structure provided in these programs.

Outpatient is provided as a less intensive and more flexible option, and takes place over 90 days. Individuals can choose from daytime or evening sessions depending on what suits them.

As for what treatment across these programs involves, there are a few therapy options, including trauma therapy, family therapy, brainspotting therapy, red light therapy, psychiatry and individual psychotherapy. Clients can also access medication assisted treatment and neurofeedback addiction treatment.
