Broken Shackle Ranch is a residential program for adolescents aged 16 to 20 in Davisboro, Georgia. Davisboro is a rural area in Washington County. The facility is situated in a calm agrarian neighborhood about two and a half hours southeast of Atlanta and one hour south of Augusta. This peaceful setting reduces stress and lets you fully engage in your healing process. Placement is provided by the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice and the Department of Family and Children's Services. Voluntary placement is acceptable as well.

The facility’s centralized location allows parents from many regions of Georgia to come and visit their sons as often as possible. Local transportation options in Davisboro are limited. The GA-242 highway eases access to the area for folks from Sandersville, Louisville and Augusta.

The average length of stay ranges from nine to 12 months. It all depends on your recovery goals and needs. The program adjusts to your changing needs. You may be able to achieve your recovery goals within seven months and graduate. You can also choose to stay as long as possible to earn certifications in any vocational area or get a college degree.
Most residents continue their recovery at Broken Shackle Ranch’ Omega House and Joseph House. This transitional housing program supports graduates who need additional assistance to achieve independence.
Vocational and Educational Focus
You’ll attend counseling sessions while onsite to gain practical tools needed to cope with life challenges without resorting to unhealthy habits like substance use. The program focuses just as much on education and vocational training as it does on recovery and treatment. So expect to receive sound educational instruction while onsite. This may include GED preparation, college readiness programs and computer literacy courses. The program incorporates a full array of vocational skills like financial management workshops or career-focused certifications to help you thrive after recovery.
You’ll be able to secure jobs, earn money and attend secondary educational opportunities at any of the technical colleges & universities nearby. Residents also participate in Life Enrichment groups, counseling sessions and community outreach programs. They also engage in employment networking opportunities to build connections and skills for future success.
