About Bridges to Change Washington County

Bridges to Change Washington County is a unique type of outpatient drug and alcohol addiction center in Hillsboro, Oregon. What makes them unique is that they’re peer led. They’ll pair you with a peer mentor who is in recovery themselves and can speak from personal experience. They’ll help to guide you throughout your recovery.

The treatment programs here are an intensive outpatient program or general outpatient treatment. Either way, you’ll mostly be in group therapy where you and your peers will learn about and work through the issues that have contributed to your addiction.

You’ll also develop the tools for lasting recovery. They have mental health care too for co-occurring disorders and this service is even available through telehealth.

There are a few things about this treatment center that struck me as especially impressive. The first is their rapid intake process. In most cases they can start your treatment within 72 hours so you can strike while the iron’s hot. The second thing I noticed is the additional programs they have here that are deeply needed in the community.

They have a mobile acute care team for mental health crises that’s available for CareOregon members. There’s also a housing program so they can support people experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
