The center is staffed with nurses, doctors, counselors and other support staff to help you in your recovery journey. Staff members will administer evidence based behavioral therapies as a part of your addiction treatment. The two treatments provided at this facility are addiction counseling and medication assisted recovery (MAR).

Staff members will typically perform an assessment to determine the appropriate care to provide you. They’ll seek information about your health and your substance use history. The medication they’ll use to help reduce your cravings and withdrawal symptoms is methadone. You’ll receive your medication dosage at the facility until you’ve stabilized. After you’re stable, you’ll be able to earn take home privileges.

One convenient option with their methadone dosing take-home privileges once clients stabilize. This option reduces trips to the clinic for medication. Methadone is safe for pregnant women who need help with opioid withdrawals. The team also offers virtual counseling sessions for those who need more accommodation.

Overland Park is less than a half hour away from Kansas City, Missouri. When you’re not in treatment, you can visit the numerous museums they have or check out the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium.

Flexible Treatment Options

During individual counseling, counselors will likely use therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapies. These types of therapy are designed to help you learn more about the cause of your addiction, identify your triggers and develop coping skills. Additionally, BHG’s counselors are trained to assist with co-occurring issues such as anxiety or depression.

The facility may also offer group and family counseling. Group counseling can be helpful to your recovery by providing you support from peers who are also healing from addiction. BHG accepts Medicare and Medicaid.
