About Berks Counseling Center

Berks Counseling Center provides outpatient behavioral health programs for clients in Reading, Pennsylvania. They provide substance use treatment in an intensive outpatient format as well as counseling for families, individuals and groups. They offer medication assisted treatment for opioid addiction.

They accept most health insurance plans including Medicaid and Medicare. There’s also options for folks with no insurance by helping you get coverage or access county funding. Some of their programs are fully funded and cost you nothing.

They make it easy to get help. Admissions are held in person by walking in without booking an appointment. head towards the admissions/intake sign and you will be seen that day. Your evaluation will outline your recovery-focused treatment plan. You’ll be cared for by a team of counselors, medical professionals, health coaches, psychiatrists and peers working together.

Their ACT program is an intensive program for patients between ages 16 and 25 who have serious mental health or substance abuse concerns.

You’ll be supported through services like medication assisted treatment (MAT). Medication assisted treatment can help you manage ongoing cravings, helping to minimize the risk of relapse

There's a wide range of additional specialized substance use disorder programs. There's one for pregnant and postpartum women. They also have a veterans program that takes a trauma informed approach to care. You’ll also find a reentry and criminal justice service program for individuals navigating the justice system.

Their counseling services are rooted in evidence based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). With these approaches, you'll learn how to manage triggers and emotional stressors that have contributed to your substance use. You'll also learn strategies and techniques that can help you overcome negative emotions. You'll learn how to build healthy habits that can set you up for success and a sober future.
