What instantly stood out to me was that they believed people did better in peer groups. They had peer groups for men, women, young adults, veterans, first responders and the LGBTQIA+ community. Peer groups were great in that they addressed issues that affected that specific group.
To help with withdrawal management, medication assisted treatment (MAT) was offered. The medications could help reduce your withdrawal symptoms and cravings. What the medication did was satisfy the chemical needs of your body without having you feel like you needed to turn to substance abuse. They believed that this was a critical part of the detox process.
Since the medication heightened your chances of completing treatment and avoiding relapse, you would have been able to focus on therapy. An array of therapy was available such as individual, group, family, trauma, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
Their partial hospitalization program ran two to four weeks in length. You would have attended your therapy sessions five days per week for eight hours per day. This program provided you with daily structure but still allowed you to go home in the evening.
You would have been able to attend work and other responsibilities with the intensive outpatient program. While still providing structure, you would have been able to apply what you have learned in your daily life. Depending on your needs, you would have attended your sessions three to five days per week for a few hours a day. The total length of the program was averaged at eight to 12 weeks. If needed, the length could be extended.
Even though they’re closed, there are other clinics nearby that can assist you.
