About Azure Acres Recovery Center – Sacramento Outpatient Treatment

Azure Acres Recovery Center Sacramento is an intensive outpatient treatment provider with two locations, one of which is in Sacramento, California, near public transit stops. Their friendly staff will schedule a confidential assessment within 24 hours of your call. Their intensive outpatient program (IOP) is for adults who are stepping down from residential treatment or who don’t need inpatient care.

You’ll meet four times a week for 12 weeks either during the day or evening. In group therapy, you will get support and encouragement as you discuss various recovery topics like relapse prevention, healthy communication, identifying feelings, dealing with stress and anger management.

You’ll also have individual counseling once a week or more if you need it. These sessions help you work with a trained and certified counselor to process your experiences and feelings and set goals for your future.

I like that they offer family therapy sessions twice a month. Here, your loved ones will learn how addiction works and how to best support your recovery. Topics like trust and forgiveness, healthy boundaries and enabling will also be part of the sessions.

Azure Acres also offers a medication management course as part of the IOP. This monthly workshop helps clients understand the importance of following prescription medication routines, making and keeping appointments and so on. When you complete this course, you’re able to continue to join weekly aftercare sessions for as long as you like.

Alumni are welcome to attend the Thursday night group sessions for ongoing care and support. I like that Azure Acres lets their alumni continue with group meetings for their lifetime. Some programs only give you access for a year, but here you can continue as long as you wish. I think it's also helpful for current IOP students to interact with alumni.
