About Austin Recovery Edith Royal Campus
Austin Recovery Edith Royal Campus was a nonprofit addiction treatment facility in Austin, Texas that offered residential and outpatient care for women with co occurring disorders. The program provided detoxification, medication assisted treatment, individual counseling, group therapy and holistic residential options.
With a focus on gender specific healing for women, the Edith Royal Campus created a supportive environment where women could recover with dignity and build a foundation for lasting sobriety. Unfortunately, they have now closed.
Women's Addiction Treatment and Maternal Recovery Support
The Edith Royal Campus specialized in addiction treatment designed specifically for women, including those who were pregnant or postpartum. The program offered both short term and long term residential care, along with intensive outpatient services, allowing flexibility based on individual needs.
Treatment incorporated cognitive behavioral therapy, relapse prevention, and Smart Recovery in a women-only setting. I like that this gender specific approach addressed trauma, family dynamics and the unique challenges mothers face in recovery, helping clients develop practical coping skills while healing in a safe, supportive community.
Integrated Care for Co Occurring Disorders
Austin Recovery provided dual diagnosis treatment for clients managing both substance use and mental health conditions. By embedding mental health services directly into addiction care, the program helped individuals address underlying issues that may contribute to substance use, supporting more sustainable recovery outcomes.
The Edith Royal Campus was located in Austin, and offered in-person residential and outpatient programs. I appreciate that services were available in Spanish, and accommodations for hearing impaired clients were provided.
The facility accepted Medicaid, state financed insurance, private pay, and Access to Recovery vouchers.

Benefits include a higher staff-to-client ratio, increased one-on-one time with therapists and healthcare providers, private rooms for clients, and customized forms of therapy.
Art and music are mediums that connect with our feelings, making them a great recovery tool during addiction treatment. Studies show that combining art/music and drug rehab can have a greater therapeutic impact than drug rehab alone, as you’re able to access parts of your brain and body that you may not have access to during traditional talk therapy. Benefits of art/music therapy include lowering stress and anxiety, promoting healthy neurochemicals, and providing stress relief.
Music can be extremely therapeutic, serving as a valuable healing tool and an integrative feature of a holistic treatment plan. A music room offers a large number of outlets, including singing, playing musical instruments, and listening to music.
