About Athens Limestone Counseling Center

Located in Athens, Alabama, Athens Mental Health Center offers mental health and substance use disorder treatment in an outpatient format. All services are offered by licensed, certified social workers, nurses, psychiatrists, and counselors. Adults, seniors, children, and adolescents are eligible for treatment. Treatment for addiction is available for those with dual diagnosis.
Programming at Athens Mental Health Center includes individual, group, family, and couples therapy in an outpatient format. It also includes transitional housing programs for those in need of a safe and stable environment while they undergo treatment. Permanent housing may be provided for those in need of long-term accommodations. In-home treatment services, case management, geriatric programs, psychiatric assessment, medication prescription, and housing placement services are provided as a part of Athens Mental Health Center’s programming. Community awareness through educational presentations on mental health is also offered as a way to increase understanding around challenges associated with mental health issues.
